Get In Touch
  • Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance directly, but I can provide a receipt for those who wish to submit on their own. I recommend contacting your insurance company for information on their specific claims process.

  • Will our appointments be in person or virtual?

Completely up to you - I offer both options!

  • What should I do if I want my partner to attend with me, but they aren't willing?

It is important to do what you can to help yourself when your partner will not accompany you while not losing sight that effective relationship therapy typically involves both parties. Let your partner know that you are going to get some help to change how you relate to him/her and would willingly and strongly support their involvement when, and if, they chose to be. As you address your needs and emotions, you may find that you are more open and empathetic to your partner.

  • What can I expect from my first session?

My primary focus in the first session is to fully understand what brings you to therapy, what is not working well in your life, what your goals are and to assess the potential for us to work effectively together. I will summarize at the end of the session what has been discussed during the hour, seek your observations and comments and answer any questions you may have.

  • How long will it take to see change?

This depends on your goals and the concerns you want to address. Some clients have short-term goals for issues that can be resolved in a few sessions, for example, how to get along with a difficult supervisor. Others may have more complex, long-term problems that have burdened them for many years, such as childhood trauma or relationship distress. I do frequent reviews with clients to determine if their goals are being met.

  • What does each session cost?

Rates are $150 a session for individuals and couples. I accept cash, check and major credit cards.

  • Therapy hasn't worked for me / us in the past - how will this be different?

There are several reasons therapy may not be successful for a client, and this is important for us to explore this up front to better ensure that your experience with me can be different. If I believe referring you to a different provider would best meet your needs, I will do so. From my experience, therapy is often not successful if the therapist and client fail to develop a trusting and honest working relationship.
